Leading scientists in cassava research and agronomy met in Mwanza Tanzania under the auspices of the IITA led African Cassava Agronomy Initiative (ACAI) project to review progress made by the project in the last 21 months of implementation.

The meeting brought together more than 60 participants representing 21 organizations that make up the biggest cassava agronomy project in sub Saharan Africa. ACAI working model incorporates strategic partnerships to develop recommendation tools that will augment efforts of reducing the yield gap and to improve extension support.
